Shell Bay Apartments

We felt at home here. Maria looked after us so well and welcomed us with almonds and a peach drink. The apartment was exceptionally clean, and the kitchen was neatly set up with all the utensils we needed to cook. There’s a little beach right behind the apartments, and we’d get up and head straight there for a quick swim. It’s close to the center, the ferry terminal, and the bus station, with buses to different parts of the island. We had a great time and already feel like we’ll return to the island soon. We’d definitely stay at shell bay apartments again.

Maria was a friendly hostess and gave us useful pointers about Korcula, including how to catch the local bus to the nice beaches in Lumbardo, about 15 minutes away. There’s also a beach on the other side of the small marina. She left a little decanter of pear liqueur and sugar coated almonds for guests, and beach towels are supplied, though they’re a bit small. Shell Bay Apartments has a few self catering units, around 15 to 20 minutes on foot from Korcula ferry port and the Old Town, with some uphill walking. Our apartment was fairly spacious, with a large shower and small kitchen. Each place has its own outdoor seating, plus there’s a shared terrace with greenery and views of the small marina.

Maria, the owner, is lovely and sweet, and the place is extremely clean. Our comfortable room had everything we needed, including some schnapps. There’s a large terrace looking out over the sea, and it’s about a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. Very much recommended if you’re staying in Korčula Town.

It was a lovely find for our time in Korcula. The apartment had plenty of space, good facilities, and was comfortable and clean. We especially enjoyed the beautiful sea view from the terrace, and the owner was friendly and very helpful. The old town is only a 10 minute walk along a pleasant seaside path lined with good restaurants and bars. There’s also a nice little beach roughly halfway between the apartment and town. We were delighted with our stay.
