Bed and Breakfast Konoba Jure

After a big climb over the pass from Senj, we arrived on our bikes to a very hospitable welcome. The rooms were comfortable, dinner was perfect, and the arrival shot of liquor added local charm. Breakfast was great too, with local tea and jam.

The owners were very friendly, and the clean, comfortable rooms had great mountain views. I stayed for two days and had a very nice experience. Breakfast was excellent, especially the herbal tea and fruit jam made from local goods in the same village. I’d be glad to come back.

Very friendly owners, and the mixed meat platter was delicious. Just right for hungry cyclists after a long day.

Room No 19 was extremely bad. The two beds were arranged in an L shape, with one person's head right in front of the toilet door. Be careful not to get that room. I stayed here a year ago in a nice room, but this time the two of us were put in a much worse one for a similar price. Edit: After the owner's reply, I want to clarify a few things. The price communicated by phone was 80kn per person per stay. On the last day, when I paid, I was charged 160kn per person per stay. I asked whether it shouldn’t be 80kn, but paid what I was asked. The reply was that I had paid a similar price for a single room on my previous stay. That room was proper and much better than this one. I’m still convinced they told me 80kn per person per night, though there could have been an error or misunderstanding. I don’t see value for money in Room No 19. As a hiker, I’m used to better and worse accommodation, and price itself usually isn’t a problem. But when I see such a mismatch between price and value, I give a lower rating. I later found a room price list showing that a room could indeed be rented for 80kn per person per night. Still, I’ve reviewed the place based on the 160kn the owner expected me to pay. If the owner hadn’t made this a reason for the low rating, I would have left this part out. About the sandwich: my roommate asked a waiter because we had a long route planned. The waiter said she could take the leftover salama with bread, which we were going to leave on the table anyway.
