Villa Vision

The host's handling of our arrival was especially upsetting. Although we'd confirmed the time, we were pressured late at night, while abroad, and told we might be denied access unless we arrived earlier than agreed. The villa has various amenities, but some don't match the description. The pool isn't heated, there is no air conditioning in the guest rooms, and the shower's hot water runs out quickly. Guest parking is limited to two spaces, with the others taken by the owners. Finding another spot nearby seems extremely difficult, if not impossible. This also isn't a good choice for a seaside holiday in Croatia. It's around 40 minutes from the coast, in a mountainous area with rather underwhelming beaches. It may suit locals wanting a short break spent mostly at the property. Although the listing says it sleeps up to 10, only 8 people can stay comfortably in reasonable conditions.

We lost a night and much of our first vacation day because of the host's handling of our arrival. We'd agreed on a 1-2 a.m. arrival, and he said that was fine. But when the group traveling from the UK landed ahead of the rest of us, they were told he had work the next morning and wouldn't wait or leave a key somewhere accessible. We had booked one car, so they were pressured into driving nearly two hours from Zadar Airport to the villa, then back to collect the rest of us, then to the villa again. The rest of us were stuck for over two hours in the closed airport, with no shop even open for water. Travelers should be aware that Zadar Airport is a bad place to arrive at night. Our group of nine friends was coming from Romania and the UK. The late arrival had already been confirmed, so this felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful. We all woke up late after losing the whole night. The price also seems absurd for a place described as having a “wonderful location.” It's actually 30-40 minutes up in the mountains, and that didn't work well for us. There were rabbits, snakes and huge spiders everywhere. The pool wasn't heated, and the water was too cold for us to enjoy. Think twice before booking.

The location was inconvenient, far from the city, shops and beaches. The villa can realistically fit only 8 people, not 9 or 10. The advertised single room is so tiny it feels more like a closet. We saw snakes, large spiders and insects around the property, likely because it's in the middle of a field. Some people may not mind, but it wasn't ideal for a relaxing stay. The pool was called heated, but was too cold to use after sunset. Hot water also ran out after about 3 or 4 people showered, and the pressure dropped. The younger host was rude, unreliable and unprofessional. He went back on agreements, was hard to communicate with, spoke poor English and showed little concern for guests' needs. He truly ruined our experience and vacation. I can't recommend this place.

The natural scenery is breathtaking, and it’s remarkably peaceful here. An exceptional place.
