Apartments and Rooms Degra

The location is about 2 km outside Umag, but you can ride into the city on a bicycle borrowed for free from the apartment complex. The rooms and apartment are nice and functional, and there's a pool to use in summer, open from May. The price is acceptable.

For me, this wasn't a place for a vacation. The apartments felt more like somewhere workers in Austria might stay for a longer job, with old, partly smelly furniture and no charm. The road nearby is busy, and there's no Wi-Fi in the room, only on the balcony for a laptop or at the pool. At night we could hear everything through the thin walls, ceilings, and floors. The view was of other apartments' balconies, the garden, or the street, as the photos show. The couch was old, smelly, and had holes, the balcony's steel furniture had no cushions, and the curtain was torn. The bathroom smelled of sewer. There were no insect screens, and small biting insects came in at night, so we had to keep everything closed. There were only five knives, spoons, forks, and so on for five people, which made it hard to use the apartment or cook comfortably. For four people over six days, we had only five small towels. We got extra, larger ones only after asking. The two rolls of toilet paper ran out, and I had to ask twice for refills. Nobody seemed to check.

I loved the bright, colorful room design. It still felt familiar and charming, and there was AC too. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and they never fixed it, so I can only give it 4 stars.

A handy place for driving around Istria and Piran. The rooms are nice and have kitchens, and there's a pool, parking, and bicycle rental. The Wi-Fi was poor and barely usable.
