Bor

The hotel is right by the sea, in an amazing spot. Parking was plentiful, and the receptionist gave us a very nice welcome. Our room was tiny, but super clean, with great beds.

Golden Rose, the restaurant attached to Hotel Bor, was a pleasant surprise. There's a very good range of fish, meat, wine, beer, and hot and cold drinks. We enjoyed the food, and the menu could be even better with some updates or clearer presentation: one dish was listed simply as grilled chicken, but came with celery cream and extra pasta that weren't mentioned. It's currently rated 4.7, and could go higher with a few changes. The staff are really friendly and add to the warm welcome. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a comfortable place, almost like being at home even though it was our first visit. The rooms are cozy and have what you need. I think the hotel could merit four stars instead of three with a few small improvements. For example, there was a water heater in the room, but no coffee or tea bags or sugar. That would be an inexpensive welcome touch. Hotel Bor is a good place to stay when visiting Krk. It's just a few steps from the center of Krk, while still offering peace and quiet, and the sea is right at hand. We've got a few more days here and are looking forward to enjoying them. So far, it's been a good stay.

Breakfast was a real highlight. We booked a room with breakfast and were amazed by the intercontinental selection. You can sit indoors or outside, and the setting is really nice. The restaurant also serves amazingly delicious food at a reasonable price. We got a 10% coupon for our order as hotel guests, and I'd recommend eating there. We stayed at Hotel Bor for two nights and had a really good experience. The staff were kind and helpful. The small parking area is a minute's walk away, and someone walked with us to show us where to park. The hotel is about 50m from the first beach, near outdoor fitness, lots of restaurants and bars, and a 10-15 minute walk from the old center. Our room faced the sea and had a comfortable bed, a balcony where smoking is allowed, two pillows per person with different firmness, a mini fridge, a bench, a table, and a big TV. The cleaner came to tidy the room.

A long promenade runs along the sea, with plenty of ways to get some recreation in. It's also a great base for trips around the island. The room was clean and modern, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The walk by the water to the city center is lovely.
