Hotel Drazica

The location was a highlight, with unusual pines right by the sea giving shade while you enjoy the view. They also kept the car shaded in the parking area. My kids loved the pool and its slide, and we definitely plan to return. The food was some of the best I've had on KRK island, healthy and not soaked in oil, with great fruit.

We got an upgrade when we arrived, and the reception staff were friendly and very competent. The location was excellent, close to the sea, town, and lots of restaurants. The rooms are a little old, but had a fridge and safe, and breakfast offered plenty of choice. Service elsewhere was much less impressive. At breakfast, staff were so slow that we had to set our own table every day. The pool bar was awful: long waits, high prices for the quality, and waiters smoking or on their phones instead of clearing tables or working.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the location was fine, near both town and the water. But our family room had no shared living space, just a hallway and two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It may be cheaper to book two rooms instead, and you'd get two bathrooms. The staff were mixed, some very nice, while others could use hospitality training. It's an old building, and the air conditioning in our rooms struggled. Thankfully, the nights were cool enough to open the door or window for a breeze. We went in Aug, and even though it was summer, I don't think the stay was worth what we paid.

We paid for a room with breakfast and dinner, but still had to pay 20 euros per day for pool sunbeds. The pool staff were rude and treated us like thieves. They smoked, so it felt like a 'communist' attitude toward tourists. The water slide was shown in the pictures, but it only opened once every hour for five minutes. The queues were huge, and the 'Bay watch' would shut the gate in front of you after five minutes, saying, 'Time's up.' The building and rooms looked nothing like the pictures. The hotel looked like it was from 1970, it felt like going back in time. My wife, son, and I have traveled a lot, and we've never seen anything like this. This hotel is a total disaster.
