Hotel Livadic

The balcony was unusable, with dirty water constantly dripping from the two air conditioning units on either side. Inside, the shower drain had sharp, unprotected edges, and our feet kept slipping into it in a dangerous way. The loose toilet seat also seemed like it could cause an injury, while the clogged sink couldn’t be used, so we had to brush our teeth in the shower. At Hotel Livadić in Ližnjan, Croatia, the owner raised the price we’d agreed on when we arrived, which felt like a scam. Staff also openly complained about how the owner treated them. Avoid this place at all costs.

The receptionist was amazingly helpful, and the hotel itself is nice, with modern rooms and a pool. But there was no food, despite Booking saying breakfast and dinner could be ordered. A gentleman sitting in the empty restaurant explained in broken English that food was unavailable because the hotel was empty. That didn’t ring true, as about five foreign cars were parked outside both that evening and the next morning. With no breakfast and evening already coming on, we had to go find a market. Everything about that was wrong. Thanks a lot to the helpful receptionists.

We found this place truly relaxing. The beach is about a five-minute drive away, so you can enjoy the popular area while avoiding the crowds right nearby. I’m fussy about cleanliness and food, and this place impressed me. The food was so good, even compared with some of the top restaurants I’ve eaten at. The light cream chicken soup was delicious, and I had to have two full bowls. I’d come back just for the food. The staff were super nice and friendly, gave our kids toys to play with, and even danced with our daughter. Our top-floor apartment was clean and smelled fresh. It had two bedrooms with king and queen beds, a TV, a nice shower, and a balcony with four chairs, a table and a drying rack for swimwear. There was also a coffee water boiler, a closet, a big mirror, a safe and a mini fridge. The property has an elevator, an outdoor pool and shower, plus an outside-accessible toilet.

A very nice, clean place, and the food was good, though I wouldn’t call it the best. The beach isn’t far, but walking there takes a while.
