Hotel Park

The food was excellent, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. We played tennis every day, and the courts were really convenient, with quality well above what we'd expected from hotel courts. They were very well prepared and maintained. The location was perfect.

Our room had no balcony, even though we booked a "double room, sea facing" through hotels.com and all the photos showed one. We wanted somewhere outdoors to sit in the fresh air or sun, read, and relax. At Hotel Park there is basically no outdoor space: no garden or outdoor pool, just a small patio marked as a coffee shop, with about six tables and chairs beside the road. Without a balcony, you're stuck with a small single window and an electric outside blind that only opens about two thirds of the way. There are some positives: it's centrally located in Lovran, just across from the harbour, the staff are friendly, the air conditioning works well, the indoor pool is warm, and the food is simple but reasonably done. Parking is difficult. There's a very small lot at the side, and you have to ask reception to open it every time. There are also four small spaces at the front, where you have to reverse onto the main road just after a blind corner. The hotel feels a little faded and dated, and there was an odd smell in the upstairs corridor. The road is noisy, with very loud motorbikes and other vehicles passing at all hours. The bathroom had a small corner shower with a small showerhead and very little room, and the coffee from the breakfast machines was really bad. It was disappointing, and extremely poor that they didn't provide the room shown in the booking site photos.

We had an amazing experience, and the food was amazing too. The staff were kind and good to us, and they even gave our daughter a cake for her birthday. I recommend visiting this lovely place and the nice city of Lovran. 5/5!

We stayed one night with half board and liked it. Dinner was great, and so was breakfast. It's near Stari Grad, with a walking path along the sea to Opatija.
