We only planned to stay one night, but after getting sick we ended up staying four or five. Danijela did everything she could to help us feel comfortable and supported while we recovered. She’s kind and very nice. The breakfast I ordered from her came in such a large portion that it could last two days or more, and I especially liked the grapes from her friend’s winery. Our Labrador was made to feel welcome, and we enjoyed her two lovely cats too. There’s good parking on site, with several really good restaurants and Bire Winery nearby. It’s also a lovely walk along the bay into Lumbrada. The downsides were the lack of a nearby supermarket and weak water pressure in the bathroom, but we had a pleasant stay.

The terrace overlooking the lagoon was a lovely place to sit, and there’s a small public pier just a short distance away for sunbathing and swimming. We stayed four nights as four people in the two-bedroom apartment, which was clean and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. The beds were comfortable too. Our hostess was especially kind, always smiling and checking how we were doing. You can rent a bicycle at Villa Laguna, which is handy for getting to the grocery store and bigger beaches if you’re staying several days. We rented a car to explore the island and found some lovely little spots, but for just getting to the city center, a taxi or bus makes more sense. Parking in Korcula is difficult, and two taxi rides there and back cost about as much as renting a car. The bus runs once an hour and costs even less. There are two very good restaurants within a short walk, but book several days ahead. We ate at Konoba Škafetin, Lumbarda 173, 20263, Lumbarda, and recommend trying it. Thanks so much for a great stay.

The rooms were clean and lovely, and the hosts were very friendly. There are sweet cats around, and kayaks and bikes are available to rent if you feel like it.
