Apartmani Vela Makarska

The room was only 16 square meters, even though the Booking.com listing said 40 square meters. That meant we felt misled right from the start. At check-in, the gentleman demanded our ID cards and wanted to keep them until morning. We refused, since an ID card shouldn’t be left with anyone. The room had a strong damp, musty smell, something guests had already mentioned on Booking. Other guests who stayed in this villa also complained about the mustiness. It was a small, basement-like room where you were likely to trip over something at every step, and the lighting was poor. The bathroom was generally filthy, as shown in the photos, the furniture was very dated, and the garden was badly neglected. The listing also said the window had a sea view, but it looked onto the neglected garden. It said the property was by the beach, too, when the beach was actually about 400 meters away. Another manipulation.
