Apartments Linda

The outside was okay, and I guess the architect did a good job, but the café underneath brought constant smokers and noise late into the night. We couldn't leave the windows open for fresh air, and it was so loud we could barely talk. The apartment got extremely hot overnight. The air-conditioning filter hadn't been cleaned, and even on a low setting it left two of us with colds and really sore throats. We were three people there for about a week. I found the interior the worst I'd seen in this kind of apartment. It badly needs modernizing, with a grandma-style look and lots of unnecessary things around, more like an Airbnb than a professional holiday apartment. The owners live next door, and the man was really nice. He even drove us to the airport and back. The woman, though, ruined the holiday. She accused us of things that weren't true and yelled at my girlfriends as if we were her children instead of paying customers. She shouted that we'd spilled oil on the couch, when it was only a little water that probably would have evaporated within an hour. She also yelled because she thought another girlfriend was staying for free, though she had only come to visit us during the day. When I met her, she greeted us wearing only her bra. She came in and out of our room without asking or knocking. It was a shocking experience, not normal in my country when people have a certain level of understanding. She treated us like trash, even though she made so much money from us. It felt as if we were staying somewhere like Hvar, not Makarska, which is full of peasants and gypsies. We didn't break or damage anything in the apartment, so we didn't deserve that kind of service, especially for what we paid.
