Guest House Damir

Everything is close by, from the beach and riviera to the Old Town and shopping. The owners are welcoming and always smiling, and Damir keeps the carpark in good order. Our clean, pleasant room looked out toward the sea and mountains. It’s well worth it, I recommend it.

The balcony was covered and had a clothesline and a fridge, and the room itself was huge, with an XXL king bed and two blankets. Damir met us at the ferry and showed us the way to the house. We could leave both of our motorbikes in the yard, and he greeted us with two beers, which was lovely. The town is less than a 10-minute walk downhill; coming back is a little steep but manageable. For dinner, we liked Restaurant "The Point" by the church.

The room was small, but fine for the two of us, and the air conditioning worked well, which mattered in the summer heat. The owner is kind and speaks just enough English to sort things out. Parking is the awkward part: the street is too narrow to park on, and there are only about three spaces near the house for at least twice that many cars. Cars need to be moved around often, though the owner will repark yours whenever you ask. I was less happy with the bathroom, which wasn't very tidy and had things that didn't work properly.

A clean, quiet place at a good price, with some really nice authentic Croatian restaurants nearby. I'd definitely recommend it.
