The location is the only thing this place has going for it. There are much better beachfront apartments all along Makarska beach, and for this price you could stay in a four-star hotel and enjoy your holiday. We paid almost 300 euros a night, but couldn't even get fresh towels on our third day. The place is old and run down and needs a complete refurbishment. We won't return, and warn others not to make the same mistake. We've been coming to Makarska for 20 years, and this was by far our worst accommodation experience. We arrived with my disabled dad, which is why we'd asked for a low floor, and another family of friends. We'd been promised two apartments on the first floor, but didn't get them. Soon after, we found the air-conditioning in my dad's room wasn't working. We reported it on Saturday, and as I write this on Monday night, no technician has shown up. It's been hard to get any sleep. At this price, reliable air-conditioning and prompt service should be a must, but that clearly wasn't the case here.

The hosts were extremely friendly, the location was great, and my room was the cleanest I've ever seen. I spent seven days at Šimić apartments in Makarska and strongly recommend staying here!
