Hotel Park

The rooms were okay, but not really suited to a holiday, and breakfast was mediocre. The room and balcony door locks weren’t working, and there weren’t enough sunbeds. When I challenged the claim that they had no change for pool towel deposits, it seemed completely made up. If you can’t get a poolside sunbed, the hotel charges €12 for one on its own beach area. For the price, this is subpar. The staff seemed to wander around doing nothing. Stay somewhere else.

At €1,700 for six nights, this wasn’t good value. Parking cost €20, either on site or in a car park 3 km away. They pushed me to take the car there before I’d even checked in, but didn’t help with the luggage. Around the pool, there weren’t enough umbrellas. When I raised this, the receptionist said there wasn’t enough space, though I couldn’t understand why one umbrella between two sunbeds would be a problem; there seemed to be room. The receptionist also had an attitude. Some beds were beneath a timber shelter meant to block the sun, but gaps made it ineffective, and it clearly hadn’t been repaired or replaced in a while. There was no drink service at the pool, so I had to go inside whenever I wanted something. The indoor bar was often unattended, and the poolside bar was closed. Although the hotel advertises itself as being by the beach, guests have to pay another €10 per day for a beach bed.

The location was great, the hotel spotless, and breakfast was an excellent buffet with plenty to choose from. The staff were very helpful and supportive, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The staff were mostly very nice, but one receptionist was unhelpful when my wife asked for an iron and ironing board. She handed over the iron, and when my wife asked for the board, she simply said they didn’t have one. When I asked about room service, she said they didn’t do it and went back to doing her nails. There is an in-room dining menu, but no room service. They have an iron but no ironing board, and the food at both breakfast and dinner was always cold.
