Villa Rita Oase

We really enjoyed our September stay at Villa Rita. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for ourselves, and if we needed extra towels or a warmer blanket, Damir and Inga brought them when we asked. They welcomed us so warmly, and the rooms were spacious and spotless. Everything is very well looked after. The walk to the beach crosses a road, but there's an underpass to get across. Coming back uphill is a bit of a workout. The promenade is great for long walks, and while you can eat out, Damir and Inga's fish and grilled peka were delicious. We'll be back ❤️❤️

The breakfasts were wonderfully varied, and they gave us great ideas for excursions and places to eat. When we asked, they also cooked fresh, delicious dinners for us. We felt so warmly welcomed throughout our stay. We'll definitely return and will happily recommend Inga and Damir and Villa Rita to all our friends.

After staying there with my parents and my 14-year-old sister, we received a reply to our review criticizing how I and my sister behaved. The owners called us antisocial because we didn't start conversations with them, saying that wasn't accepted in "Croatian culture" and was apparently very Dutch. We barely speak German, though our parents are fluent, and we always answered when spoken to, saying things like "thank you," "hello," and "bye." I have autism and my sister is very shy, so we aren't going to start speaking broken German on our own. They had no right to make comments about anyone's children. It was truly the lowest of the low.

The breakfast was superb and had plenty of variety, and the apartments were clean and well equipped. The hosts go out of their way to make you comfortable at Villa Rita and help you enjoy Makarska and Croatia as a tourist. There's a lovely pool area, and the setting is quiet and good for adults, while the sea and entertainment are still within walking distance. Huippupaikkai aikuiselle!
