Couldn't have been better!

The walk back uphill from the beach is a bit of a climb, though that's normal around here. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get down, and there are two supermarkets and two bakeries just 2-3 minutes away. The area worked well for us. Our family of four and our dog stayed for a week. We really appreciated being allowed to bring a pet. The apartment was clean and stocked with dishes and lots of useful household bits. There are two lovely balconies, one looking out to sea. We met the hostess, a pleasant woman who speaks several languages, and Mila, the housekeeper, was very polite and conscientious. There are two free parking spots on the property, which was a big plus. A couple of things could have been communicated better. We arrived late in the evening, before the next morning's check-in time. I'd written ahead to ask about arriving early and any charge, and was told there'd be no extra fee. The next day we got an invoice for the whole day. I don't mind paying, but I think that should have been explained before we checked in and stayed overnight. The Wi-Fi was out for the first few days and wasn't fixed until two or three days later. I had to add credit to my mobile phone to give the whole family internet, which cost extra. Mila worked hard to sort it out and did manage to fix it. We also weren't provided with garbage bags or toilet paper, though those were minor issues.

There's room in the yard for no more than two cars. We were warned by the city police on the last day about parking behind the windshield wipers, and the second time we got fined, so parking there isn't free. The old man managed to take this notice from an Italian car. Locals seem to prefer Austrians and Germans. If we'd come with two cars, I don't know where we would have parked.
