Hotel Aurora

The rooms were very clean, but the hotel itself looked old and as though it had never been renovated. There was also a separate registration fee on top of the room price, something I’d never encountered at a hotel before. The reception staff and restaurant managers felt artificially kind. The cleaning ladies and waiters, though, were lovely. We’ll definitely return to Losinj, but not to this hotel.

We spent a week here in autumn and had a great time. The staff were a big part of that. Our child got sick during the drive, so we arrived late and missed dinner, but the kind staff arranged a late meal for us. The waiters were lovely and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable as a young family. The food was great, especially dinner. I loved the choice of different fish and made myself a delicious fish platter. Our room was clean and very nice, and from the fourth floor we could see the little cove below and the island Susak. There are also lots of lovely walking paths around the hotel, and the saunas were nice. It’s a modern hotel with great views, and I’d happily stay again. 👍

This was a horrible experience, and the nightly price for a hotel like this is outrageous. We booked a park view but got a view of the parking lot, as the picture shows. The room door was torn, and two towels had blood stains. We’d been told that if we missed dinner before 9pm, it would be waiting in our room at check-in. When we arrived, the man told us he couldn’t arrange it and hoped we weren’t hungry. The noise was unbearable, too. Delivery trucks and other cars in the parking lot woke us at 5am every morning. If you want peace and quiet, this isn’t the place.

The price felt hard to justify, nearly €200 for one night in low season. Staff were friendly and the food was good, but a lot of things fell short. The pool was overcrowded, apparently because guests from another hotel were using it, and the jacuzzi was out of order. We paid €30 for the dog, which came with a bandana and treats, but it still felt excessive, especially since we couldn’t bring him to breakfast. The room had no kettle or tea and coffee, and the AC didn’t work at night. The room manual said to ask reception for the wi-fi password, but around 11pm we couldn’t get through: one number was invalid and the other was constantly busy. Sorry, not worth the price.
