Hotel Malin

The hotel was peaceful even though it’s close to the city center, so we could relax and still get around easily. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was good quality. We had an excellent, worry-free stay, and I’d recommend it.

We paid over 200 euros for a terrible stay, and I can’t believe it. Parking was 10 euros for a gravel lot that wasn’t even close to the rooms. There were cockroaches and lizards in the hallways, one sighting across from our first room and cockroaches at reception too. At 1 am, we had to move from our first room because the card system wasn’t working. The rooms were tiny and outdated, and the bathroom was disgraceful, with 3-1 body shampoo. Since we weren’t part of a group, we were told to sit in what was basically a hot, humid glass greenhouse. Breakfast was very basic, nothing special, and the coffee was disgusting. When we raised the problems with reception, the man said nothing. On the way out, we spotted another cockroach and told them. They pretended to play dead like a dog. The manager was sitting next to reception, but couldn’t help because he was dealing with another customer who was also angry and upset about the service. I’m leaving one star only because I can’t give zero. Don’t stay here, save your money and go elsewhere.

We stayed at Hotel Malin from Monday to Friday and had good service, a nice atmosphere, and a convenient location. Our room, 332, had recently been renovated and had a lovely view. After we asked at reception, they helpfully moved us from the first floor to the third. It was fresh, clean, and worked well for our family of three, two adults and a young boy. The beach is just a two-minute stroll away, and guests can use the sunbeds at no extra cost. Get there early if you want one in the shade. We often walked to a nearby bakery for a light lunch, which was convenient and cost effective. The airport is nearby, and a taxi costs around 45 Eur. Walking along the beach gets you to the center of Malinska in 10-15 minutes, with plenty of restaurants and a nice harbor. Breakfast was better than I expected, with sparkling wine available for a bit of extra luxury. Dinner was included and adequate. Our son really enjoyed it, though we adults sometimes found it lacking. Still, we always left full, and a glass of good red wine made it work out well. I can recommend the hotel, especially if you get one of the newer renovated rooms.

It was a surprise to find that parking costs extra. The spa was great, with four saunas and a professional massage. Service was great too, especially Mr Zlatko from maintainance department. He was professional, helpful, and polite when unexpected circumstances came up. That man is a real hero.
