Marinus Beach Hotel

The location is lovely, in a quiet bay in a small village with several restaurants and bars, so there was something new to try each night. We also really liked the hotel restaurant, and the beach bar next door was a great place for an afternoon drink or snack. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help. Breakfast each day was delicious, high quality, and offered plenty of choice. Our room was comfortable and lovely, with a stunning sea view and balcony. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach, and the pool was a perfect alternative to the clear sea. We loved every minute and will surely be back soon. I'd highly recommend this peaceful, relaxing hotel to anyone visiting Croatia.

The staff were helpful and the hotel itself was lovely, but the price made the stricter policies and restaurant especially disappointing. Our child couldn’t have two friends from nearby visit the pool because they weren’t registered guests. I understand the reasoning, but the pool and hotel are small for a beach resort, and the rule felt too rigid for families with local friends. Across more than 100 resorts we’ve stayed at, we haven’t run into this before. We’d hoped to return when visiting our friends up the hill, but we’ll likely choose somewhere else. The restaurant was the worst of the 10 we tried in Croatia that week, while places about 100 yards away were much better. It may suit older couples or people sailing through who need a shower for the night, but I wouldn’t call it very family friendly.

The village setting was peaceful, with lovely nature around the hotel at the end of it, and the stony beach nearby was calm, with a little bar. We’d happily stay again if we return to the area. Lucia gave us a warm welcome, answered all our questions, and made the holiday feel like it had started right away. We could have a welcome drink anywhere in the hotel while our bags were taken upstairs. The rooms were spacious and modern, and the breakfast buffet was modest but plenty for hotel guests. They made eggs to order and brought coffee or tea to the table. There’s an infinity pool overlooking the beach, though it felt a little too close to the restaurant for my taste, plus a small gym and a wellness room with a sauna and jacuzzi. We enjoyed a massage and pedicure. The wellness quiet area wasn’t very peaceful, since the jacuzzi was noisy and the lights were too bright to dim. The gym was basic, but usable.

We made the most of our stay here. The beach, pool and restaurant all looked stunning, and every facility worked out perfectly. Our room was modern and lovely, and the service was great. They brought our luggage up and gave us a welcome drink too. A really nice stay, 10 out of 10!
