We went in wanting a main course, but when beef tartar was offered, I couldn’t resist. We’d already chosen meat over fish after Adrian carefully explained his suggestions, since there wasn’t a menu available that season. The tartar was finely chopped, topped with young olive oil, a cheese crisp and mustard sprouts, with little dots of wasabi mayo espuma and shredded butter. Every ingredient and detail was homemade. We also had Skradin Risotto, the 24-hour veal risotto, and some lovely beefsteaks with a harmonious mashed creation. I won’t try to list every flavor, you have to go and taste it. Anyone who loves and understands food should have a satisfying meal with Adrian at Max Gastro. Thanks to him and the whole team. We’ll be back! We didn’t stay at the hotel, so I can’t rate the rooms.

From Zadar to Split, I haven’t found a restaurant with better food. The chef is talented and kind, and the rest of the staff are friendly too. Nicely decorated place, with a lovely view and terrace. Just perfect.

The special was amazing, and the service was just as good. If you want food from your own country, check Trip Advisor, but for a local dish made by a chef who cares, come here. It’s right by the water with a great view. If you’re nearby, it’s worth checking out. Can’t recommend it enough.

The sea view from the rooms made mornings and evenings feel special, and the beach was only a short walk away. Parking was easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful the whole time. We had a wonderful stay at Max Gastro Beach House, with delicious food too. I especially recommend the gnocchi with prawns and the ribeye steak, both cooked perfectly. A great spot by the sea for good food and comfortable accommodation.

The restaurant was a real highlight, though our one-night stay in the accommodation in early July didn’t go as hoped. We’d booked a mountain view room but looked out at a building site. There were no duvets or sheets on the beds, so we had to ask for them. No hooks for towels either, and the water had no pressure and never got hot. It was so warm outside that cold showers were fine anyway. Dinner was lovely, and the view was special. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Marco, if I’ve got his name right, was one of the best servers we’ve had on our travels. He kept our drinks topped up, checked on the food, offered extras and made great suggestions. Hubby had delicious fish with potato and chard, and I had a heavenly pizza/flat bread. I’d definitely recommend the restaurant for dinner 💯
