We loved the location and the view. The beach is very close, there’s a shop nearby, and the apartments were clean and well equipped. But the owner’s behavior made parts of the holiday much less enjoyable. He was extremely rude, didn’t speak English, and expected us to speak Croatian. He didn’t try to translate or communicate another way, just shouted at us in Croatian. He kept walking around the apartments and scolding us for using the facilities. Once, he made us leave a table by the grill because he wanted it for his family, kicking the chairs we were sitting on and telling us rudely to get out. We weren’t given extra toilet paper or trash bags, and were told to buy them ourselves. There were no apartment trash bins, so we planned to take the rubbish out at the beach on our way home. At 8:30, before the 10:00 checkout, he came in and berated us for not having taken it out yet, even though our belongings were still inside. He didn’t seem to mind that and simply entered the apartment. We also had to wash the patio and sweep the floors ourselves. We wouldn’t have minded doing that if he hadn’t shouted at us and called us names. We understand that hosting a group of 18 friends could be frustrating, but that doesn’t excuse how he treated us. The lovely location and view earn an extra star, but the owner was terrible and spoiled some of the nicer moments of our vacation.
