Arena Hotel Medulin

The food was tasty and there was plenty of variety, and the staff were excellent, always kind and helpful. They also had an entertainment program every evening, and the beach is close by. The rooms are fine, though they could do with renovation. Our mattress was pretty worn and should be replaced more often. Still, it’s a very good hotel and a nice place to spend a vacation.

We stayed at the Ai Pinia apartment, which was spacious, with a huge terrace. It’s a quiet place with lots of playgrounds around the apartments and a large parking area behind a fence. They even provided a sponge and dishwashing detergent. Highly recommend it. I left my watch behind, and the kind staff took it to reception and later sent it to my home address. Priceless!

It might work as a party hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a restful stay. There was noise from children all the time, and one night I woke up at 4 a.m. to people singing below my window. The rooms are tiny and old, with hardly any room in the shower. The carpet didn’t seem clean, and the room smelled a bit. Breakfast was okay, but the juice wasn’t real juice, just a water, sugar, and flavor mix.

The pool uses seawater, which is great since the beach is a bit far away, and there’s animation too. I also liked having a Hungarian TV channel. The food is tasty and varied, the balconies are spacious, and the room equipment was quite sufficient. It’s a pleasant hotel. My one suggestion: the sunbeds could be made of a more flexible material instead of hard plastic, so they wouldn’t need mattresses.
