Hotel Narona

The food was a disaster, and the service was awful. The waiter was very old and didn’t know how to say good day. I’ll never come back. Worst place I’ve ever been.

Narona is close to the bus station, so it’s easy to travel from here, and there’s a lovely promenade nearby for a walk at the start or end of the day. It’s a good base for discovering Croatia. The hotel feels cozy, almost like home, and the individual attention to guests made the service especially nice. Everyone working there was kind and professional, particularly the owner. The food at Narona was delicious, and I couldn’t leave any on my plate! Hvala, Narona!

Right by the Neretva river promenade in the city centre, this is a handy stop for visiting nearby Croatian and Bosnian sites. The hotel is old but clean and functional, and breakfast was excellent. The restaurant looked promising for lunch or dinner, though we didn’t get to try it ourselves. There was a brief misunderstanding over the agreed price at checkout, but the hotel manager Milko sorted it out within moments. He served our breakfast and was friendly and professional.

I drove to the hotel after trying to reserve through Booking.com, even though other websites showed availability. At the hotel they told me there were no rooms, but on the phone they said rooms were available. As soon as the guy saw me, he said there were no rooms. When I asked for the manager, he said he had cancer and threatened to call the cops. The night shift was the most unprofessional hotel experience I’ve had. I’ve travelled all over the world and never encountered such disrespect. I’d never recommend this place to anyone with another choice.
