The location is amazing, right beside the church in this beautiful town, and the view makes you want to come back. The friendly owners happily drive you and your luggage from the cemetery parking lot up inside the town walls. We could choose between a room with a great view or one with a great bathroom. Breakfast was nice, though it would've been better with a fridge for drinks. The air conditioning worked well, and there was a free "bar" of grappa. We booked because the place was inexpensive and had great reviews, and it definitely deserved them.

Up at the top of the hill, this charming hostel feels peaceful, with some noise around. Breakfast costs 75 kunas (about $15 CAD), and it's generous, healthy, and worth it. Sandra was very welcoming and helpful.

We were given a parking ticket with the B&B name and directions to a spot at the foot of Motovun, then Thomas, the owner, picked us up with our luggage and drove us through the narrow lanes of upper Motovun. Breakfast was worth including, especially since there's no supermarket for miles. The room we had, #4, was very spacious, almost like an apartment, with excellent beds and air conditioning that worked really well. The B&B sits at the top of Motovun, between the tower and church, just 10m from the city wall, with a superb panorama. There are at least five restaurants in town, but they're popular, so make a reservation.

Antico is in a lovely historic building right in the centre of Motovun, and the hosts were super friendly. My spacious room was stylishly decorated, well equipped, and had its own bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and generous. I couldn't ask for more. It did seem they may have changed their business model, since Antico no longer appeared to operate as a hostel and seemed to offer private rooms with bathrooms instead.
