Guesthouse Villa Marija

Breakfast on the balcony was fantastic, especially with those views over Motovun in the morning. It costs extra, but was well worth it. The room and balcony were both spacious, and the hosts were really lovely. The guesthouse has an amazing spot in hilltop Motovun.

The balcony has the best views, and the modern room was clean and comfortable. Lorena was a lovely, helpful host and made sure we had what we needed. It’s a gorgeous apartment in beautiful Motovun, and the location is great. We’d 100% come back.

The house is 400 years old, though you’d never guess it from inside. The host was amazing: she met us where the tour shuttle dropped us off, explained breakfast, and suggested restaurants. It was such a unique feeling, like being on top of the world.

The town is only a few minutes’ walk away, with its old town entrance, restaurants, and cafes, but the place itself is quiet and has amazing views and sunsets. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and a 60th birthday here. The whole family made us feel welcome, and Lorena and her son speak English and help with anything you need. They picked us up from the car park at the town entrance and drove us back at the end of our stay. The house and rooms are very clean and well kept, and breakfast was wonderful. We also went on one of their truffle hunts and had lunch afterwards, with beautiful local food and wine. Thank you, Lorena and family.
