Be careful booking this through Airbnb. They cancelled our reservation six days beforehand, saying their “agendas” weren't aligned. By then, prices had risen because we had to book at the last minute, so we ended up paying more for another place.

The dinner was the part that really amazed me. The family runs the place, and their son is a great chef. We had fresh fish caught daily by the owner, plus vegetables, homemade pasta, and liquors. It was a first-class meal at a very affordable price for that kind of food. We enjoyed every bite and would come back just for that. Breakfast was delicious too, served buffet-style and included with the room. The rooms were very clean, nicely decorated down to the smallest details, and ours had a sauna and jackuzzi. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights and enjoyed every moment. The owners welcomed us warmly and made us feel like we were visiting friends or family. They were always there when we needed them. The Villa is in a quiet, nature-filled area, yet close to sports courts, activities, and beaches. We borrowed their bicycles for a nice ride and even got some extra free time with them. The yard and restaurant were also carefully decorated. Everything exceeded my expectations.

The owners are such nice people, and the restaurant serves delicious food, including fresh fish the owner catches himself every day. There's wellness here too. A beautiful place with everything you'd need for a perfect vacation, 10/10.

Daniela was a wonderful host and happy to share tips for seeing Umag and other towns on the peninsula. We stayed at B&B Villa Istriana in a clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed and nice linens. Breakfast came with the room, with lots of choices, and you could ask for scrambled eggs. It was served in a sunny room lined with windows. There's a good restaurant right next door, where we ate on our first evening. Once we knew the area better, we found plenty of good places for food, drinks, and gelato. Rustico, just up the road, is amazing. This is a comfortable, low-key, budget-friendly base for exploring Istria, and we highly recommend it.

Writing this before checkout, I'm enjoying a delicious breakfast and still feel bad about breaking the glass soap container in my room. Dear hosts, sorry again, and thank you for not making a big deal of my silly mistake. The kind people running this B&B spend the day making guests comfortable, and you can see how much care they put into the little details. If you're near Umag, stay here. 😎
