Apartment Nedjeljko

The apartments were clean and well maintained, with a nice view.

We had a very disappointing experience. Our friends had rented the apartment, and we were only stopping by briefly to plan our holiday. A normal conversation or laugh was enough to bring loud shouting from downstairs, which felt awful. Later, our friends, including their two small children, were kicked out in the middle of the night. Treating families this way is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We can’t recommend this host.

We were accused of having five people showering in the apartment, which was absolutely untrue. The landlords were rude, aggressive, and unfriendly, especially the old man downstairs who kept shouting. We were thrown out in the middle of the night with our two small children, and had to call the police because we couldn’t reach an agreement. Be careful with these landlords.

We’ve been visiting Croatia for six years, and nothing like this has happened to us before. On arrival, the owner’s daughter greeted us warmly, though the owner himself didn’t seem very empathetic from the start. We unpacked, went to see friends, and didn’t even sleep in the apartment that first night. The next morning, two friends stopped by for coffee while out walking. The four of us sat on the terrace and chatted at a normal volume. The father suddenly started shouting because someone was there. Only afterward did his daughter message us on WhatsApp to say that visitors were strictly forbidden. There are better ways to explain that than shouting and insults. After that, the owner watched our every move. When I went to our boat, he was already in the doorway checking on me. Our friends were so worried about doing something wrong that they climbed over a wall to reach the boat. The following day, I checked with the daughter whether three or four friends could cross the property on their way to the boat. She said that was fine. But when we got back that evening and my girlfriend tried to help me with a bag, the old man went ballistic, yelling and insulting us. He said people were constantly coming and going and that five people were showering in the apartment, even though we hadn’t been there ourselves all day. Things got so bad that we called the police, and we couldn’t come to an agreement. We were evicted and had to leave in the dark with two small children, then find somewhere else during peak season when everything was booked. After speaking with the police, we were allowed to leave the boat there for one more night. Starting at 8 a.m. the next morning, we were harassed every hour about when we could collect the boat, even though we first had to find a new boat slip. When we picked it up, we’d left a few things on the table in the rush to pack. The kids’ ice cream had been sitting on top of everything in the 30-degree heat. I was speechless 😞
