Mrs. Dorotea and her family were the most helpful hosts I’ve met in a long time. My friend and I were offered a suite for five at a nominal price, even though there were only two of us. It started when I went to ask about availability on our first day: the owner’s mother greeted me and offered me water with syrup. Then my friend became ill, and Mrs. Dorotea drove us to the hospital and waited there for over an hour while he was examined. She even bought us a sandwich and water. The hospital said we needed to go to Zadar, an hour and fifteen minutes from Novalja by car. She took my brother and me there without hesitation. The examination lasted nine hours, and she stayed the whole time. When I got tired, she let me sleep in the car and brought food and drinks for everyone. I offered to pay for the trip and the food, but she wouldn’t accept anything. My friend still didn’t get better, and the family continued helping, including bringing him broth and water. Eventually his brother came to get us, and we thanked the hosts with specialties from the Czech Republic. I’ve never met people so willing to help. If you’re unsure about staying here, I think you’d be making a mistake by not coming.
