Apartment Vanda

Everything was neat and clean, and the location was very good. The terrace faces roughly south and west. We paid an extra 7 EUR for air conditioning, but there was just one unit in the kitchen, dining and sitting area, with none in the bedrooms.

Novi Vinodolski is a lovely place in the Kvarner Bay, and the apartment is well placed for both the busy center and the beach. We could walk to the shore, and the kitchen had what we needed for cooking. The landlady was very friendly, and the flat was spacious, with two double bedrooms and a third room that also had an extra bed. Still, the apartment needs renovation. Many tiles were broken, and paint was peeling off the bathtub; it had rough drips that could hurt someone. The mattresses were old and worn out. There were no waste bins in the kitchen, bathroom or toilet. We had to get hot water from the bathtub to wash dishes because there was none in the kitchen. The kettle was an option, but very slow. Our daughter's bed had a loop curtain instead of a bedsheet, which I couldn't understand. Fitted sheets exist in Croatia too. There was no air conditioning, and it was too warm to shut the windows. Traffic noise carried on late into the night, and we could hear a lot through the walls. The large terrace was nice, but guests in the apartment above used it to reach their own place, which bothered me. There was also a connecting door to the landlady's apartment, covered by a large mirror. The advertised TV only spoke Croatian, with no way to change it, though we weren't there to watch TV, so that didn't bother us much.

The host was kind, and the place was clean and tidy, with practically everything provided. It's close to the center, and the sea is about a 10-minute walk. We stayed in the upstairs apartment. The bathroom looks a bit retro.

Vanda was a really kind and pleasant host. The apartments are comfortable and in a good location.
