The only real plus was the location, very close to the beach, town center, and shops, and the garden was beautiful. The rest was awful. Some rooms may be kept up, but ours clearly wasn’t. It was incredibly dirty, and the shared kitchen was terrible. The owners seemed to cut corners on everything while still wanting to make money from tourists. A dishwasher would help a lot. There was no lock on the bathroom door in our room, which felt completely disrespectful to guests. On the second day there was no hot water in our room. Apparently a certain switch had to be left on, but nobody told us, perhaps to save money again. We had to spend ages looking for a trash bin around the property, and ashtrays weren’t readily available either. Then, on the day we left, the owner said that if we posted a bad review on Booking.com, she would tell them we had been noisy. Anyone would have been noisy. We didn’t post there, but decided to write this on Google instead. Dear guesthouse owners, reasonable high-season prices don’t justify dirt and poor cleaning. Croatians are generally known for hospitality, friendliness, and sincerity, and we made many friends on our holidays. It seems you’re either not local or not at all customer-oriented. I hope you learn from this.
