The food made a great stay even better. We had half board, with dinner for two, and thought it was good value. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Istria, with omelettes, pancakes, pastries, cheeses, prosciutto and plenty more. The waitstaff were helpful and often smiling. The spa felt new and was beautifully designed. We especially liked the tiled pool, Finnish sauna, steam sauna, also called the Turkish bath, and emotional shower. The jacuzzi was nice too, though it stays at 32-36 Celsius, so it’s warm rather than hot. Everything made for a very relaxing visit, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We live nearby and booked the boutique hotel for a birthday treat. It’s in a peaceful spot beside the marina, with lovely views of the harbor, olive groves and charming old city of Novigrad. The walk into town takes an easy ten minutes. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back for wellness and relaxation. Highly recommended!

They laughed at reception about guests, assuming we couldn’t understand Croatian. We’re fluent in Croatian, so we understood them. The reception staff seemed bored and unmotivated, and their behavior and gestures came across as though they thought they were better than us. There was no effort to de-escalate the situation. If you’re okay with being laughed at behind your back by people in their twenties, this is the place for you.

We ended up staying three nights on our road trip, and I’m glad we found this place. The location is quiet and peaceful, with the port of Novigrad and places to swim in the sea both within walking distance. Parking is included, as are the spa and wellness facilities, which felt fresh and were really nice. We didn’t regret extending our stay, and I’d happily recommend it. The staff were super friendly, the restaurant food was good, and the cocktails were delicious. Breakfast had just about everything you could imagine. Our room was large and comfortable, with a big balcony, plenty of storage and comfortable beds. The bathroom felt newly updated and was spotless. The marine-themed decor is charming, though the worn carpet brought down the room’s impression a little. One suggestion for management: it would be nice to have child-free hours in the pool and spa areas.

A really nice hotel, though breakfast and the wellness area could be better. There were loud kids everywhere. A few child-free hours each day would help, perhaps 7.00-11.00 and 19.00-21.00. The dog charge also feels high. For a longer stay, it should stop at five days, even though that still comes to €100.

We had such a happy stay at Nautica Hotel. The sea view gave us a fantastic sunset, and the hotel’s design is really nice. Breakfast was super, with cereals, sausages, four kinds of eggs, lots of breads and fruits, cheese, cakes, cookies and more. A special thanks to receptionist Zoja, who was very kind and helped us so much.
