A wonderful place right by the sea, where you can spend your holiday surrounded by nature.

We left after just one night, and our €1,000 deposit was not returned. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this place. The stay fell far short of what the written description and email had promised. The beach was covered in boat ropes and was anything but private. There was no fence around the property, and the very rocky shore made it completely unsuitable for children. Getting luggage down the extremely steep stone steps was exhausting. The rooms were tiny, the water pressure was barely there, and the air conditioning didn't work. The garden furniture was in terrible condition. WiFi barely worked, just enough to send a WhatsApp message. For €4,000 for two weeks, we expected a much higher standard.

Villa Venta - Pure Nature and Sea Stay: August 2 to August 15, 2021 Guests: 6 adults and one child, age 9 After at least 20 trips to Croatia, this was our first and most expensive disappointment. We paid for a Robinson Crusoe-style holiday, but the price was anything but reasonable. The one star is for the location right on the beach. The house is in the first row by the sea, so the view is beautiful all the time. That's about the only positive. The place, listed as a villa for €387.00 per night, was not well maintained. There is a nice restaurant about 150m away by the direct route, and it's recommended. But getting back to the house in the evening is difficult, and the only sensible way is through the campsite. The house runs only on solar power, so power cuts happened regularly every morning. There's a backup generator, but you have to turn it on manually from outside, which is quite an adventure at night. A flashlight comes in handy. When the electricity goes, the water goes too, so toilets and showers stop working as well. At one point our running water ran out altogether. It came back the next morning, after a very frustrating evening. WiFi throughout the house? It works, but it doesn't. There was no coffee machine, and parking was not available. The drains kept clogging, and the issue still hadn't been fixed when we left. Reliability: 10%. Apparently, what was said yesterday didn't matter. When we arrived, the previous guests were still there, and the landlord had no time to sort things out. We couldn't check in until around 7 pm instead of 3 pm, though they were very punctual when it was time for us to leave. For the Corona cleaning, they had at most 1.3 hours for this supposedly trivial task, and the quality showed it.
