Breakfast was decent in both amount and quality, and the person looking after it, along with the cleaner, were genuinely hospitable. Still, two major problems made this hotel difficult for me. The walls are paper-thin. I could make out the exact words of conversations in the street, the corridor, and even the neighboring rooms. As a hotel guest, I felt more like a liability. There’s no reception, and restaurant waiters handle the keys. Beyond that, guests are expected to stay quiet in their rooms and not ask staff for anything. The shower leaked, while restaurant guests could party as late as they wanted, despite the house rules setting quiet hours after 22:00. That felt like a double standard.

The beach is just a short step away, with small stones that don’t heat up, and the water is absolutely sensational. Trogir Fortress is reachable by car, by boat for 5 euros/adult one way, or on foot along an easy 2.5 km route. The walk is harder because the island has no sidewalks due to lack of space. Villa Okruk exceeded our expectations. The hosts were lovely, the restaurant food was delicious at breakfast and dinner, and the portions were enough. Self check-in was easy with accurate, sufficient information, and towels were changed daily. We also loved the palm trees right in front of the balcony, especially at sunset. The staff were very friendly, particularly the morning waiter and the cleaning lady. Cleanliness could have been better, though I didn’t specifically ask for anything, and the room was average in size, so I didn’t give the room the maximum stars.
