The beach is just a five-minute walk away, though there’s no special view, with an oil refinery in front of the hotel that gets loud in the evenings. The hotel feels like a trip back to the 70s and badly needs renovation. They may point out that it’s only two stars, so you shouldn’t expect much, but honestly one star seems more accurate. There’s no TV, Wi-Fi or ventilation, and the bathroom looks dirty. The cleaning lady comes at 8 AM whether you want her to or not. Breakfast gets boring after two days, and dinner is leftover lunch, which you can check against the published menu. The restaurant is crowded.

The room had mould, insects, a smell, and sweat marks on the sheets and blankets. Beds were uncomfortable, balconies small, and ours had one broken, mouldy plastic chair. There was limescale all over the bathroom and no proper shower, toilet paper holder, or waste basket. No air-conditioning, Wi-Fi or TV either, and the corridors had no lights. Meals and dinners were no good, and Coca-Cola cost 30kn. The woman at reception was unfriendly. At least the place had a jail-like atmosphere.

Its location near the sea and airport was the one good thing. The staff were very unfriendly, the old rooms were dirty, and there was no AC. Food was bad, other guests were loud and annoying, and the Wi-Fi was poor. You may want to choose somewhere else.

The whole place, beach included, looks and feels like a communist holiday resort. Book only if you want to feel like you’ve gone back 30 years.
