Amadria Park Hotel Sveti Jakov

Hospitality at this level is rare, even after staying in many places. The whole staff deserves credit, especially Nikolina, the manager on duty. She was helpful and exceptionally kind from the reservation onward, making an extra effort to help us relax and avoid stress, which was exactly what we needed.

Breakfast stood out most for us, with a great choice of food and kind, helpful staff each morning. My travel agent booked the Amadria park hotel in Sveti Jakov Opatija, so I arrived without knowing much about it. It’s a beautiful historical boutique hotel, especially if that style appeals to you. We traveled as three people and had three rooms. They were comfortable, and each had a very spacious bathroom. There is air conditioning, but it doesn’t get very cold, particularly in rooms with more windows. We also liked being able to use amenities at the sister hotel a few minutes’ walk away. My kids and I enjoyed the spa, pool, and hot tub there.

The staff are what make this place special. They provide a remarkably high level of service with such ease and kindness, and make you feel looked after. The food is great, and the location and views are excellent too. For me, it’s the best hotel on the Adriatic coast. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. Somehow it gets better every year.

The complex is pleasant and the rooms are okay, but so many things cost extra. Sunbeds are 10 euros each, the aquapark is 35 euros, and the little train around the complex is paid too. Parking also costs per day. We paid 112 euros for parking and city tax over seven days. You can only use your own hotel’s pool and restaurant. The reception didn’t give us full information about what was available or the prices, so we kept finding things out by chance, like the train. The animation was just okay. Some people, such as the boat rental staff, seemed bothered by questions and were rude and unprofessional. Other people were perfectly nice.
