Hotel Mozart

The staff were amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable in English. This rating isn’t meant to diminish their work. My main complaint is Room 207: the place looks nice, but it’s extremely archaic, and the room was boiling hot at night because the A/C didn’t work. If that room is an exception and the A/C works elsewhere, they should still fix that one. As for Opatija, I honestly don’t think the city itself is worth visiting. There aren’t attractions to see, though there’s a good beach and some shopping. In the area, you could stick to Rijeka or Rovinj instead. Please make sure the A/C works in every room, because it was ridiculous trying to sleep in that heat.

The wellness center was very nice, with a Japanese bath, two saunas, a Turkish bath, free tea, and massages. Rooms are large and the beds comfortable. There’s a beautiful view, good prices, and the hotel is centrally located with good connections. The staff were cordial, and I was very impressed with them. I recommend it!

We couldn’t stay and literally ran out of this supposed 5-star hotel. I’ve stayed in 3-star places that looked better. The hotel is very outdated, there’s a strong diesel smell throughout the ground floor, and the bed was uncomfortable. The food was mediocre at best. The TV and surround sound didn’t work, and the air conditioning was so loud we had to turn it down to sleep. It wasn’t worth the money, especially when Opatija has much better hotels. Someone should consider downgrading it from 5 stars to 3 in its current condition. The location is the only reason for the two stars.

The room was nice and the location excellent, but the elevator was so slow that we took the stairs. Parking was a problem: each time you arrive, you have to ask the front desk to open the gate. If there’s no space, you have to park outside, and they pay for it.
