Hotel Opatija

What I liked most was the rooftop: you can sit at one of the many tables for cocktails and a panoramic look over the Opatija Riviera, or enjoy it in your bathing suit from the infinity pool. It feels like a great place to meet friends, and the family who own the hotel help make it welcoming. You might even run into Katica, her daughter Anamaria, or her son-in-law Dario, who manages the facility. The Keight Hotel is right in the heart of Opatija, Croatia, with the sea and developed swimming areas about a two-minute walk away. Restaurants, shops, and gelato vendors are close too, while the hotel sits far enough back from the busy coast road to stay quiet inside. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and comfortable, with privacy settings on the blinds so you can enjoy the view without feeling exposed. There’s also a wellness spa and indoor pool. It's a brand-new, one-year-old five-star hotel, selected by Hilton Hotels for its Curio Collection. The Keight Hotel deserves its five-star rating.

We especially enjoyed the facilities, with a lovely rooftop pool and bar as well as an indoor pool. The staff were the highlight for us, so friendly and helpful throughout. Our group had a fantastic stay at the Keight Hotel in Croatia. The modern amenities were great, and the rooms were spotless. It was a really pleasant, memorable visit, and I'd happily recommend the hotel and hope to return.

The hotel looks lovely, but the design was about the only thing that impressed me. The bed was big and comfortable, the minibar had a good drink selection, and the suite's two bathrooms were super nice. The staff were kind, though the service didn't feel five-star. They admitted they were short-staffed, and nobody answered reception when I called several times before arriving. Noise was a problem too. The walls are extremely thin, so you hear footsteps from upstairs and conversations next door. The rooftop pool is small, dirty, and, with children using it as a playground, impossible for relaxing. On Friday, the day we arrived, the restaurant wasn't available because it was booked for a wine tasting. Rooftop bar food was the only alternative. We waited more than 45 minutes for it, with the kitchen busy because of the event. Even the hotel's reply to my review is ridiculous. Staff may work hard, but they are still understaffed, and that alternative dining option, including fried fish and potatoes, took over 45 minutes.

That rooftop pool is really nicely designed, and the rooms are spacious and luxurious, with big bathrooms. The bathtub overlooking a stunning view is something I'll remember. Service was the best we've ever experienced at a hotel. From reception and luggage help to the rooftop team and breakfast waiters, everyone was so welcoming and kind. It gave the place a warm, almost family-like feel.
