It's a tiny studio, but clean and has everything you need. The hosts are helpful, and 8 minutes from the center of Opatija is a very reasonable price, especially in high season when similar apartments are hard to find. I'd recommend it if you don't mind the stairs, or want to count the climb as part of your daily exercise.

The owner was very kind. My apartment was lovely, though small, especially the bathroom. It's in a quiet area with plenty of services nearby, just a few minutes from the center.

Getting to the center takes just a few minutes, and the location is good. The owner was flexible about our late arrival at check-in, though that was the only time we saw her. I know the price was low, but elsewhere in Croatia we got a much higher standard for the same money. The bathroom is microscopic. If you're tall or even a little overweight, you can barely fit. There was almost no hot water, and the chenille sofa bed has a fabric that didn't seem very hygienic. The fridge was really noisy, and there were no shower towels, just four face towels. Inside there's no proper table for meals, only a small table outside that's no use if it's raining. The only way to get air in is to leave the door open to the shared area. The window looks out on a scrap yard and a run-down shack. The hygiene could be better too.
