Hotel Bellevue

We had a great time here with our group of friends. The place was clean and well cared for, the location suited us perfectly, and the staff made us feel welcome. We’re already keen to come back.

We spent eight nights at Aminess Bellevue Village, in the bungalows next to the hotel. The room was basic inside but clean, and we could hear noise from the room above because the sound insulation wasn’t great. The location was hard to beat. Our terrace faced the sea, and the beach was just steps away. The hotel pool was clean, with plenty of sun chairs and a great view of the sea and Korcula island. Breakfast was served in a room with another lovely sea view. From the nearby passenger and car ferries, the trip to Korcula island takes only 15 minutes. We had bed and breakfast and often walked into town for dinner, about 15 minutes away. There was often live music and quizzes on the hotel terrace in the evening, and the entertainment team was great. We’d definitely come back.

There were lots of stairs and no lifts, and the room had no basic toiletries or amenities. The phone didn’t work at all. The room felt cheaply built, with materials that seemed recycled, almost like a shipping container. Its bathroom was tiny, and the glass shower door didn’t fit properly, so it wouldn’t open wide or close right. Water kept leaking out, and I nearly slipped on the flooded floor. The cheap flooring made a lot of noise when we moved around. Door handles were broken, and the doors and windows were made of cheap plastic. The old, bouncy bed felt like it had never been replaced. It hurt my neck badly enough that I needed medication. There were no bathroom vents, so the lack of airflow gave me headaches and migraines, and I had a fever the next day. I had to get medicine from the nearest pharmacy. What a disaster. I’d like compensation.

The hotel allows dogs, and the main beaches are nice for families with small children. There are only a few smaller rocky spots, and they’re hard to get to. Breakfast had a good selection, while lunch and dinner were tasty, though the meat dishes repeated every other day. The range of other choices made up for that. I’d take off one star because the ground-floor room was very noisy.
