For a one-night stop, the room was fine for what I needed. The price is good, and the place is close to both the rail and bus stations. I communicated with the owner, Bozica, on WhatsApp and got quick replies. There was a small access issue, but it was easily sorted out. A few of the room lights didn’t work, and the mains plugs were rather high up the wall, though I had no real complaints.

Sadly, my stay was very disappointing, and I can’t recommend this place, even for one night. The location is close to the bus, which is why I chose it, but the quality here doesn’t justify the price. Cigarette smoke seemed to be everywhere and made the place feel dirty. Wi-Fi had a very weak signal and kept dropping out. The shared bathrooms were the worst part. The showers looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in months, if ever. There were visible layers of grime, discolored tiles inside the cubicles, and caked dirt on the glass. The cubicle was gross, rusty, and covered in calcium buildup and who knows what else. I didn’t feel clean using it. There was no handwash, either. The sink in the top floor bathroom also had drainage problems, and the tap made a loud, high-pitched screaming sound that carried into the rooms. A lovely way to wake up. I asked to check in early, around 12, and she said okay. When I arrived at 12:30, she told me the rooms were being cleaned and to come back in 30 minutes. There were couches available inside, so she could have checked me in and let me wait there, but instead I had to sit in the park across the road. The bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in, an old, worn-out spring mattress from the 70s. I couldn’t sleep and was sore, even after trying to use the blanket from the second bed to cushion the springs poking into my back. The rooms are advertised as “soundproofed,” but they definitely aren’t. I could hear every word, cough, and fart from the neighbors, as well as noise from outside. I think the place is misrepresented and falsely advertised. If they replaced the old 70s beds with something you can actually sleep on and properly cleaned the place, the price might be okay. As it is, it definitely isn’t value for money.

The rooms were small, people smoked in the corridors, and the shower was useless. The owner was difficult to deal with and wasn’t there. I wouldn’t recommend it, even if it were free.

A quiet, clean room in a central location, and the owner was smart. Very nice for a very good price. Highly recommended!

A clean, affordable and nice place to stay in Osijek.
