Villa Sunset Plat

This family-run place was a great find. Zoran welcomed us, took us to nearby Cavtat, a lovely hidden gem close to Dubrovnik, and even drove us to the airport afterward. We couldn’t recommend them enough. Amazing people, and we can’t wait to come back!

We had such a good time in Croatia. The service was super friendly, and the apartment had air conditioning and a giant balcony. It’s a quiet spot opposite a supermarket and two restaurants, with an affordable 10-15 minute Uber ride to either Dubrovnik old town or Cavtat.

The restaurant next to the supermarket was excellent, with good food and great staff. The supermarket across the road was disappointing, though: low stock, no cups for its coffee machine all week, empty wine shelves and tired pastries. It was fine for water, beer, chilled meat and cheese. The place was very quiet, with new rooms and lovely views. We stayed a week in studio room 8a. It was small and had no private balcony, but that wasn’t a problem. No cleaners came during the week, so we had to make the towels last, and we ran out of toilet roll. The small pool area was nice, though a few chairs would help since the loungers are so low. There are steps everywhere. Walking to Milini took 20-30 minutes over hills and lots of steps, so expect good uphill walks. I’d recommend Villa Sunset for a very quiet stay if you’re okay with that.

We booked through hostel world and found the host very helpful. They pointed us toward some gorgeous beaches just a few minutes away, though there are steps to get to them. I’d recommend this for a pool and beach holiday, with public transport available for trips to bigger cities.
