They were very hospitable.

The price was excellent for the area, 50 euros. It’s a handy base for visiting the area, and the rooms are clean and functional, with a TV (Netflix). The beds were okay, though the bathroom is small. Sometimes there’s no water because the delivery truck arrives late. Stefania, a friendly lady in her eighties, runs the rooms in the village where she lives, near Plitvice Lakes National Park. She’s very kind and welcoming. She speaks a little Italian and almost no English, but repeats herself until she gets the point across. She welcomes guests with plum rakia or fruit, and likes to show family photos.

The rooms have everything we needed, including a fridge, kettle, dishes, shower and toilet, plus a shared terrace. They’re also conveniently close to Plitvice Lakes. We arrived after dark, so we didn’t get any good photos. You’ll have to take my word for it! The real highlight is the friendly hostess. She greeted us, checked us in, and showed us around. She was so welcoming and sweet, chatted with us, and treated us to plums, apples from the orchard, and homemade cherry liqueur.

A lovely welcome at a quiet, clean place near the lakes and plenty of services.
