Slaven gave us useful directions for visiting the national park and walking there from the accommodation. You can reach the park entrance on foot by a path through the forest with stone paving, and there's a local market nearby. The bus drop-off point isn't far either. Facilities were well maintained, with heaters, showers, and lots of storage for our room type. I think there are a few parking spots on site. Breakfast costs 8 € per person and Slaven prepares it himself. We appreciated the quiet rule after 11, since many guests need an early start for hiking or come back tired from the trails.

Gate 2 of the park is a 20-25 minute walk away, and there's a great restaurant nearby. The host was friendly, our room was clean and comfortable, and we always had hot water.

The local owner works as a guide and gave us lots of information before our park visit. We might have missed some gorgeous spots without those tips. Our fridge had complimentary cold beer, water, and juice, plus some fresh fruit. Breakfast is the only meal served here, though there are nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner. It's in a handy spot, close to the main road and about five minutes from Plitvice National Park, but we didn't hear traffic noise.

Being so close to Plitvice Lakes was a real plus. Our room, number 1, was very basic, with low, small beds and little tables that felt made for children. There was dirt on the floor, under the bed, and on the windows. Arriving at 18:00 to find a key left in the door and a note with only our names on it felt very strange. The worst part was the noise from reception and the entrance next to our room. Even after 22:00, talking and other sounds came through the door and kept us from sleeping.
