Guest House Lidus

The accommodation is in a quiet spot, just a couple of minutes from the beach, and the location works very well. Brist itself is lovely, with beautiful beaches. The room for two felt a little expensive, though.

We booked through BOOKING expecting an apartment for four at 130 euros a night. What we actually got was a room with a bathroom and a refrigerator, with no gas or electric stove for making breakfast or dinner. The owner said he rents rooms, not apartments. There was no hospitality at all. Payment was upfront, so I wouldn’t recommend booking through BOOKING for Villa Lidus, at least.

I was resting with my daughter in the afternoon when the person renting the apartment knocked twice. Half asleep, I assumed it was the next door, and didn’t get up. Then he unlocked our door and walked in. He seemed to think nobody was inside. I was shocked and couldn’t even figure out what to say or do. He looked startled too, then apologized and said he was checking whether anyone had smoked in the room or on the terrace. That excuse means nothing to me. He had no reason to enter a rented apartment. He could have brought it up when I answered the door or when we passed each other, which happened at least once every day. I don’t know what bothered me more, the sense that he was snooping through our things, or that he could come in at any hour while I was alone with my child. Stay well away from people like this!

You can reach the beach and a restaurant from the house in about 50 metres. The rooms were tidy and had good equipment, and the hosts were there whenever we needed anything.
