Guesthouse Podaca

Gonan, our host, even took time to show us the old town. He knows a lot and seemed to know everyone in the neighbourhood. Thanks for that. The shared kitchen was useful, and we had our own fridge. We liked sitting just outside it in the warm morning sun. Our top floor room was small but fine, though swapping the second single bed for a pull-out sofa would give us somewhere to put our things. From the top balcony there’s a great view over the roof of the house in front. The host spoke English really well. His Mum didn’t, but she brought us coffee, tea, and fruit from their trees when we arrived. It’s a five minute walk straight down to the beach, where there are trees for shade. Bring a beach mat and rubber booties for the stones.

I stayed with my wife on our honeymoon, and we felt like part of Goran’s extended family. He and his family are so friendly. The house is close to the beach and the motorway, which made it easy to get around Croatia. I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say, which is a good sign. The room and bathroom were clean, with plenty of space. It’s not especially luxurious, but it worked fine for a few days. The place is near the main road.

The host was super friendly, and the beach is really close. Our room was clean and had AC, plus we had a great view from the balcony.
