Villa Jerkan

We went to the restaurant several times, and Marko made our beach holiday in Split/Podstrana feel perfect by going out of his way to help us in all sorts of ways. He's the best person you could meet there. The veal skewers are worth trying. If you want somewhere to eat or stay, I'd definitely choose Villa Jerkan, especially their new restaurant.

It's a quiet place, good for families with children or anyone who doesn't like noisy spots. We enjoyed the delicious fish platter, the friendly staff, and the great owner. There's a private beach with free deck chairs, and the bus station is a two minute walk from Villa Jerkan. You can reach Split or Omis in just a few minutes by bus. I can only recommend it.

We were made to pay for an extra night after the owner's son had offered it for free because of the unpleasant welcome and the room not having the central sea view he'd promised. He accused me of lying, though he was the one who hadn't been honest with us. On our last day, while I was seven months pregnant, he demanded payment for a sun umbrella that the wind had broken, then gave us 15 minutes to leave when we refused. He swore and behaved like a crazy person. The son, Marco Jerkan, was arrogant and rude, and treated us without respect. It's the worst replacement for his father. We wanted a peaceful holiday while I was pregnant, but this was the worst holiday we've had, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Please avoid it. The facilities were very poor too: no hair dryer, iron, or oven, and the internet was so weak that watching a movie online or downloading email wasn't possible. In the garden-facing bedroom, we could hear passing cars all night, which made sleeping horrible. They only care about money, and unless you're a rich German or British guest, you'll be treated without respect.

The beach area is comfortable, with umbrellas and shoal, and the water is crystal clear. The villa is nice and has a really beautiful sea view 😍.
