From the first moment, the owners made us feel at home. They’re incredibly kind and welcoming, and always ready with helpful recommendations. Korta Gira is a charming boutique hotel in a beautiful stone building that really captures the spirit of Istria. It was a handy base for exploring the region: Poreč is about 10 minutes away by car, Motovun around 30 minutes, Rovinj 35 minutes, and Pula under an hour. Mornings brought delicious breakfasts with plenty of variety. In the afternoons, we could try excellent Kadum wines in the cozy winery. There’s also a shared fridge for storing local products, which made it easy to spend relaxing evenings with wine on the beautiful terrace. A truly special place run with passion and heart. Highly recommended ❤️!

Luana and Darko are terrific hosts. They know the local area well and take the time to suggest places that are a little off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Korta Gira is a lovely, little three-bedroom guest house in the Istrian countryside near Porec, well placed for exploring, with the north-south motorway and local road network nearby. Our room was spotless, comfortable and a good size. The bathroom was well equipped and looked after, and guests can unwind on a sunny terrace or in a comfortable lounge with a glass of the owners’ own wine. Breakfast is served in a separate shared space and is a real treat: local charcuterie and cheeses, fresh bread and pastries, fruit, homemade jams and yoghurts, and fresh eggs, with hot drinks or juice. We really enjoyed our stay. If we return to Istria, we’d love to stay here again.
