Flores

The food was great, and the staff were so kind. We were right in the old town, just a short walk from the sea. A wonderful stay, highly recommend it!

Flores is convenient for the town and beach, and the service was okay. But for what it costs, the hotel felt very poor value, and I’d give it two stars rather than four. Our room was large, though the two single beds were pushed together, and the bathroom was small. The indoor pool seems an odd choice when it’s around 30C outside for much of the year. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. The cereal was basically cornflakes and Rice Bubbles, the machine only seemed to offer filter coffee, and the yogurt was some kind of manufactured goo that didn’t need refrigeration. We’ve moved up the road to another hotel that costs less and is far better so far, with superb service, an incredible breakfast, and an outdoor pool. That really shows how badly Flores stacks up for the price.

Breakfast was very good, and the rooms were spacious with a very new bathroom. There were only a few plug sockets in the room, and none in the bathroom. The hotel is very close to the beach and not too far from the old town. It was also full of German tourists, and some chatted me up in German in the hallway.

We stayed as a big family and had a lovely time. The kids especially enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Our rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The hotel is just a few steps from the beach and the old town.
