Hotel Zorna Plava Laguna

The food and drinks were pretty good, and the staff seemed open, polite and great to deal with. Still, I don't think the place is worth the money or the stress. For half the price, you can find a better apartment nearby, with fewer people and more privacy. There were queues for everything, from breakfast and dinner to the lobby bar. The rooms were small, and the bathrooms felt more like closets. At sunrise, every sunbed had a towel on it to claim it, then sat empty for most of the day while nobody else could use it. The elevator wasn't working, so we had to carry all our luggage up to the third floor via what I think were the emergency stairs. The coast was packed, with no room to spread out, so another beach is a better choice. Croatia is beautiful, and you can find great views elsewhere for less money and hassle. Three stars for all the wishes that went unmet, I suppose.

Being able to cross a small road and reach the sea was a real treat, and there are pretty towns nearby to explore. The pool was crowded and there were never enough loungers, but with the hotel's location, who needs a pool? I loved the meals, with something different each time, and the drinks were good and varied. Our bed was big and comfortable, and the room was fine for two. The bathroom was tiny, though we weren't in it much. Dear Zorna Hotel, thank you for such great service ❤️

The entertainment was a highlight for kids and adults. The team is fantastic, with a Lion King musical on the sandy beach Mondays, Croatian live music before dinner on Tuesdays, then an outdoor movie that evening. Thursdays bring a rock show with live music and great dancers. Spectacular, though I hate that it ends in fireworks over the sea. The next day, you can find their remains on the beach, pedalinos, boats and in the water. I can't imagine what that does to the animals. There are two pools, but the water is very cold. One is 40 cm deep, and the other goes from 120 to 190 cm. There are tables and chairs nearby with a nice sea view. Food is very good and changes regularly, and the bar has drinks and ice cream all day. From 16:00 to 17:00, they put out sandwiches, cakes and potato chips. Kids can go to the mini club morning, afternoon and evening. You're only a few steps from the beach, which is nice for sunbathing. For swimming, walk five minutes to the left side of the bay, where the beach is rocky but the water is much better. The rooms are tiny, and the bathroom really only suits skinny people. The shower is 90 cm wide, and once you open the glass door there's only 70 cm to squeeze through. All the staff were kind and helpful.

The food was the biggest letdown. There wasn't much variety, the menu kept repeating, and choices were limited. We mostly ended up eating fries and roast meat. Seafood was scarce, with only basic mackerel and mussels. Some food was undercooked and bloody, which wasn't acceptable. There were no allergen labels, so we often had to ask staff, and the answers weren't always clear. For an all-inclusive stay, the food quality and selection didn't meet expectations. The room was small, with old but clean furniture and a particularly cramped bathroom. The place was well kept, and we got fresh towels every day. The balcony door broke on day one but was fixed quickly. The bed had a bad smell that remained even after the sheets were changed.
