We ended up leaving by choice the following day, but the whole situation was awful. After we asked for a refund for the unused nights, the owner said booking.com had told her she didn't need to return anything, even though we'd paid in cash. She also reported us to booking.com on August 25th, claiming we'd behaved badly and broken the house rules. I don't agree with the other reviews saying the owners are nice. It started on August 24, when an Italian couple moved into the room beside ours. We were exhausted after traveling all night, and around 10 pm their banging and crashing was so loud that we knocked to ask them to quiet down. The man said he didn't understand, slammed the door, then deliberately started banging a chair on the floor. Smoke from their room was strong too. The next day, when we contacted the owners, they said the house rules allowed talking until midnight, though this wasn't talking, and that smoking was allowed on the balcony. On the second night, the woman played music from her phone on the balcony. When she went inside, the man threw her phone off the balcony. He then spat at me and physically attacked me. The owner came over and accused us falsely of causing trouble, saying we had 20 minutes to leave. It was already midnight, we'd paid for the whole stay, and he still wanted to put us out on the street. He said either the Italians would go to a hotel and we'd pay, or, once they left, we'd cover the difference for the nights they didn't stay. I couldn't make sense of that, since they'd paid for their full accommodation too. To us, it felt like a clear breach of human rights and basic values.
